When Eve moved upstairs and left me this office, her last words before going out the door was, “I’ll be coming back for my stuff…” Well it’s been awhile, and I’ve yet to figure out whose cigar was left smoldering in the ashtray. Boxes piled on boxes with stuff piled on top of them! Did this woman ever throw anything away? So yesterday she finally calls and asks for her skull lamp to be sent upstairs (Thank God, that thing was stinking up the whole place…there was still bits of flesh on it). Under the lamp I found this box of MOVIEMARK DVD INDIE SHORTS PROJECT VOL 1 DVDs. I remember this project. It was supposed to showcase both the established independent as well as the newcomer. The profits were to finance vol.2, which never came about. I think it was a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth. Too bad, really. It’s a nice little collection of shorter work spanning several genres. What’s included is seven short films; Richard Marshall’s SOULED, Jason Stephenson’s THE LOCKSMITH, Anthony Thurman’s THE DEPRESSION OF DETECTIVE DOWNS, Shawn Hunt’s MIDNIGHT SNACK, Jose Rosetta’s INDEBTED, Daniel Heisel’s BOXED IN and Paul von Stoetzel’s ASLEEP IN THE DEEP. Each short has extras on its own from director bios and pictures, some even have commentary. I see Amazon.com still sells them at $9.99 each plus postage. What I want to do is blow em out at $6.99 with first class postage included. That should pay for the shipping, handling, and getting someone to address, package and mail the envelopes. Eve won’t miss em, she’s probably forgotten she had them. Hell, the packrat she is, she’s probably forgotten most of the stuff in these boxes. (I wish she’d remember that damn cigar, though) Quantity is limited, so if you don’t want to miss out, order today, we take PayPal.
